The International Astronomical Union has not changed its definition of a planet simply because the public is sentimentally attached to a poor hunk of space rock.
Hmm, I guess my info is wrong. My bad. (although wiki isn't exactly the most reliable of sources. I could edit that page to say that it IS a planet really easily, and visa-versa.)
